OEC

By Tyler

Once upon a time it was a rainy day and our class went to the OEC on Swanson river road in our cars when we were heading to the OEC we saw a lot of slimy and wet wetlands. When we got there Cameron, Roman and I were asking people, “Do you want to play rock, paper, and scissors, shoot for a couple games while we are waiting for the food and equipment?” Ms. Brewer finally got the food and games to all of us.

Then we got the stuff we need for the Swanson River activates. So we started walking to Swanson River. We started water testing and looking for aquatic insects. We headed back to the OEC. Then we played soccer, and capture the flag. Then we went to bed. The next morning we went on a trail to identify wetlands and learn about them. Two hours later we went down the trail again and we saw fishermen draining all the water out of bogs, River edges, and marshes and cutting down the plants to turn it into a parking lot for trucks and cars after they launch their boat into the river. So Cameron, Roman, and I walked up to the fishermen and told them to stop, but they wouldn’t listen.  So I walked up to the fishermen and told them, “You are destroying the wetlands at the OEC”. Then the fishermen said, “We don’t care if we destroy the wetlands”. So we told them that we would pay them each$5,000 dollars so they would leave and buy things.

The End
