Kenai Flats!!!!!!!!!

By Tyler

One day I went to the Kenai flats for duck hunting. First I got my waders on. Then Ben, Jonathan, and I started walking to our blind to set up. When we got to our blind there was a big mud pile in the front of our blind. I was eating a snack and we saw Ben, and Jonathan’s friend Shane. So we walked to his blind and asked if he wanted to join our blind and he said, “Yes”! Then we scared ducks.  After that we saw 40 geese so we got our shotguns and ducked so they wouldn’t see us so they would land by our decoys. After that Ben and I took a walk to the mud lands were there was a lot of draining holes to the Kenai River. When we got the draining holes Ben told me what I am getting for my early present is. Then we went to our house.

Simulation #1

By Tyler

The goal: In simulation #1 was to have Plants and Herbivores live for 100 years. To have all organisms survive in the Environment for 100years. Our Simulation contained two Herbivores and two Plants.

First we choose the organisms to place in the Environment, and we decided witch plants the Herbivores ate.

Next we saw that some of the organisms did not survive for 100years. So we changed some organisms so they would survive for 100 years.

Then we successfully made a stable environment and all organisms survived for 100years so we recorded our Data in our journals.

Simulation #2

By Tyler

The goal in Simulation #2 was to make all organisms live for 100years. To have all organisms survive in the environment 100years. Our simulation contained three plants, two Herbivore, and one omnivore.

First we choose the organisms to place in the environment, and we decided that we had to make omnivore eat omnivore.

Next we saw that some organisms did not survive for 100years so we changed some things to make all the animals survive.

Finally we made some graph.

OEC

By Tyler

Once upon a time it was a rainy day and our class went to the OEC on Swanson river road in our cars when we were heading to the OEC we saw a lot of slimy and wet wetlands. When we got there Cameron, Roman and I were asking people, “Do you want to play rock, paper, and scissors, shoot for a couple games while we are waiting for the food and equipment?” Ms. Brewer finally got the food and games to all of us.

Then we got the stuff we need for the Swanson River activates. So we started walking to Swanson River. We started water testing and looking for aquatic insects. We headed back to the OEC. Then we played soccer, and capture the flag. Then we went to bed. The next morning we went on a trail to identify wetlands and learn about them. Two hours later we went down the trail again and we saw fishermen draining all the water out of bogs, River edges, and marshes and cutting down the plants to turn it into a parking lot for trucks and cars after they launch their boat into the river. So Cameron, Roman, and I walked up to the fishermen and told them to stop, but they wouldn’t listen.  So I walked up to the fishermen and told them, “You are destroying the wetlands at the OEC”. Then the fishermen said, “We don’t care if we destroy the wetlands”. So we told them that we would pay them each$5,000 dollars so they would leave and buy things.
